Geoff Stoneman will run as an independent candidate
Nanaimo, BC – 09/17/2019 – Geoff Stoneman today announced that he has been confirmed by Elections Canada as an independent candidate for the 2019 federal election in Nanaimo-Ladysmith.
As an independent, Geoff can put the community before party interests and with no party obligations or constraints can assure public conversation and participation in order to achieve the intentions and ambitions of Nanaimo-Ladysmith.
As a Red Seal Plumber/Gas Fitter, Geoff is fortunate to collaborate in the building of Schools, Hospitals, Fire Halls, Apartments and Condos in Nanaimo-Ladysmith, but appreciates his chances to help individual families feel safe and comfortable in their own home.
Geoff’s platform is created based on conversations he has had with hundreds of members within our community. As he listened to the ideas and opinions from those who vote and those who do not, he found common ground that both sides could agree with, Nanaimo-Ladysmith wants to elect the best person and not obligatory party policies.
In his talks with members of the community, three topics are in every conversation:
• The crisis facing mental health and addictions
• The cost of living here
• Our impact on the environment and the roles our community members play
Geoff believes in the future of this riding, sees it as an amazing place to raise his children, and has a vested interest in the future of this community and the Island.
